Although much of our domestic work is involved in the conversion, refurbishment, extension and re-organisation of existing buildings, we provide our same user-friendly service in the bespoke design of new houses for private individuals and developers.
We take a pride in ensuring that our new houses are designed sensitively, to meet client requirements, to fit comfortably into their surroundings and allow future flexibility of use, and to reflect the possible changing needs of the occupants without ‘dating’. We also endeavour to adopt energy saving features and sustainably resourced construction materials, that our clients are willing to accept.
By careful consideration of the brief, design, orientation and interaction between house and garden, we ensure that the best use is made of the available setting, resulting in desirable ‘added value’ to homes, designed by us.
Current projects are always at varying stages of the design and construction process, from initial sketch design to just completed on site:-
Recently completed, this was a tricky planning issue, involving a certificate of lawfulness and then a replacement dwelling. The 4 bedroom house was built to 3 storeys, in order to restrict its footprint to that of the previous ‘dwelling’. The tiled roofs have stone coped gables and brick walling has stone dressings to window and door openings.
