This project involved a complete refurb of a family home, to bring it up to date and make it suitable for the family’s lifestyle.
The client wanted a large family area which connected to the kitchen. We demolished the wall between the kitchen and dining room, and raised the ceiling level. This made it possible to introduce a breakfast bar which visually demarcates the kitchen from the dining/living space. A woodburner completes the cosiness of the area. One year from completeion. this area has become the hub for the family and for entertaining.
Also included in the brief was making the windowless downstairs toilet less claustrophobic. We achieved this with clever use of lighting, colour and the positioning of the backlit mirror.
